There are a many moving parts when our Boots on the Ground move out.
When disaster strikes BOG teams move into action to assist. The team on the ground needs eyes and ears on the situation that they may not have the ability to keep up with. That’s where the background team moves in. Information moves quickly and changes at the drop of a hat. Resources move in and situations escalate or deescalate minute by minute.
A variety of needs arise during each deployment that include but are not limited to:
- Resource acquistion
- Social Media Monitoring
- Information collection
- Information Vetting
- Mapping
- Vetting Volunteers
- Weather montitoring
- Dispatching BOG members
- And so much more!
If you are interested in participating in a response following a disaster but are not able to respond physically on the ground there are many ways you can assist. This role can be a few hours a day, overnight listening to communication’s, pulling addresses and phone numbers, watching the weather or just helping keep information organized.
